Locals Only | 311 Alexander Street, Rochester, NY 14604 | Full-time

$52,000 to $72,000 per year, plus performance bonus | 5 days a week, 8am to 3pm. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday required.

Locals Only is a breakfast and lunch restaurant on Alexander Street in Rochester, open daily 8am to 3pm with full coffee and cocktail service. Our mission: we provide world-class delighted guest experiences for our guests through food, beverage, art, and meaningful human connection.

Run the restaurant day to day. You lead the team during service, own the guest experience, and keep operations, people, and numbers on track.

What you will do

  • Lead service as the guest's main point of contact and make the real-time calls on atmosphere and standards
  • Handle guest delight, dissatisfaction, and service recovery
  • Respond to and share Google and Yelp reviews
  • Hold the team to cleanliness, organization, and health safety standards
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees, including HR incidents
  • Build the schedule and train the front of house team
  • Run payroll and new hire onboarding (Heartland, 7shifts, handbook)
  • Run monthly staff meetings and set the agenda
  • Order bar, coffee, and miscellaneous goods, and keep the vendor list current
  • Resolve maintenance issues and handle permits, insurance, merch, and print
  • Book events and large parties
  • Keep our tech current: Tock reservations, Heartland POS, Popmenu website
  • Run daily cash drawer and tip procedures, deposits, and the cash log
  • Pay invoices and manage the invoice process with our CPA
  • Own budgeting, flash reporting, and KPI tracking

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years managing a restaurant or leading a front of house team
  • Availability 5 days a week, 8am to 3pm, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday required
  • Comfortable with budgets, cash handling, invoices, and weekly numbers
  • Comfortable with restaurant tech: POS, scheduling, and reservations
  • Hospitality first. Culture fit matters more to us than a long resume
